So, I recently saw an entry about the men's decathlon, and how Ashton Eaton - an athlete I've never heard of - has proven that this means I know NOTHIN' about athletics by setting a world record. This article's pretty impressive and interesting, not least because - as my sister recently researched - the holder of the decathlon world record is considered the World's Greatest Athlete. Especially with that in mind, I'm fascinated by how the other decathletes seemed to have the impression "Something special is going on here, and it's our job to help that special thing happen", rather than trying for personal glory. It's kind of impressive.

The article also contained the following photo:


A normal person sees a man filled with adrenaline being very happy about his high-jump result. I, however, saw something... slightly different.


Freeza should worry.

I feel similarly for Scyther - awesome design, but put a shirt on.

But I could go on. I love the expression on Electrode's face. That is a girl who's just ACHIN' to use Explosion.

This is completely unrelated, I'm afraid, but it's just occurred to me: have you seen any of The Legend of Korra? It may not yet have reached the bar set by its predecessor, but I think Korra as a character seems potentially right up your street.

(I resorted to the Pikachu manip, incidentally, because I couldn't work out how to give Mr Eaton a giant hamburger without obscuring his face.)

And if I watch Korra now, you just know it'll start with...

(Also, while most of my attempts did indeed cover his mouth, even when I decided to be sneaky, and while I may have cut off one of his fingers, and while it's still not as good as it could be, I think that we may just be thinking too small; why would the World's Greatest Athlete stop at one giant hamburger?)

Hijacking the thread just to giggle over the photo manips (bravo, you two), and to chime in with: Kadrin, you should really finish Season 3 and start watching Korra! I mean, they ended the series really well, and I've only seen the first two episodes of Korra but it looks like it will be really good!

(And I concur with soranokumo! At the very least I encourage you to finish watching Avatar. Although I suspect you've finished it already and you're having us on; do you really expect us to believe you hit on the never-ending pies solution by coincidence?)
